  • Finchfinger is seeking a highly skilled Director of Business Development to join our leadership team and play a vital role in the growth and success of our organization.

    In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that capitalize on market opportunities, and representing and promoting Finchfinger's consulting and design capabilities to clients. You will be instrumental in cultivating strong relationships with clients, ensuring that their needs and expectations are met and exceeded, and advancing our innovative and creative work.

    As a member of the leadership team, you will also have the opportunity to mentor and support other team members, contribute to the building of our brand, and help us conquer the world.

Day to day

  • Shock awe
    Design and execute innovative approaches to delivering value to clients in a variety of industries. This may involve developing new products or services, streamlining processes, or finding creative solutions to challenges faced by the company’s clients. The role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box in order to come up with novel solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

    Promote a culture that encourages and supports innovative thinking and top-notch work. This may involve leading by example, setting clear expectations for performance, and providing opportunities for employees to learn and grow.     Identify and engage opportunities to expand the company’s reach and impact. Institute a proactive approach to identifying and evaluating potential opportunities as well as the ability to effectively communicate and persuade others of their value.

  • Strengthen relationships
    Generate and lead new collaborations with our clients. Identify and pursue opportunities to work with our clients in new and innovative ways. This may involve developing new products or services, entering into partnerships or joint ventures, or finding creative solutions to challenges faced by clients. It requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to build trust and rapport with clients, and the ability to think outside the box in order to come up with novel solutions that meet the needs of clients.

Relevant experience

  • Leadership experience
    The job requires a minimum of five years of leadership experience in a consulting firm or design studio. Your experience should involve leading teams, managing projects, and working with clients at a strategic level.

  • Stellar guidance
    A track record of exceptional leadership, as well as expertise in building, scaling, and supporting teams is required. We are also looking for experience recruiting and training team members, developing processes and systems to support team growth, and providing ongoing support and guidance to team members.

  • Sage advice
    You must possess a demonstrated aptitude to direct teams and guide individuals in their personal development and progress. We would expect you to be involved in setting goals and expectations, providing feedback and coaching, and creating opportunities for growth and development for our team.

  • Effective communication
    Outstanding communication skills, including wit and charm, for both internal and external contexts are necessary. You must be able to effectively convey ideas and information in a clear and concise manner (with wit and charm, obviously), and should possess the ability to adapt your communication style to different audiences.

  • Innovative thinking
    The job requires a collaborative, creative thinker who has a flair for innovation and excels in ambiguous challenges (Yes, and...). This may involve developing new ideas and approaches to problems, working effectively with others to bring these ideas to fruition, and finding creative solutions to complex or undefined challenges.
